When dental surgery becomes necessary, we know how important it is to fully inform you of the procedure and what to expect.

Dr. Verdin and the Fayette Family Dental Team will go above and beyond to make sure you are completely comfortable during and after your surgical appointment.

Examples of minor oral surgery that we provide in our office include:

  • Tooth Extraction - Whenever possible, we will recommend restoring vital teeth to maintain bite function rather than extracting them. Missing teeth create open spaces and cause other teeth to shift and move into unnatural position, placing them at risk of breakage and loss of bone retention. (The exception is wisdom teeth, which rarely are functional and are difficult to keep clean.) Should tooth extraction be necessary, we will help you review your restorative options following removal of the tooth.
  • Cosmetic Periodontal (gum) Shaping – Minor cosmetic dental surgery may be recommended to correct a "gummy smile" or to enhance cosmetic dental restorations.
  • Soft Tissue Biopsies to rule out Oral Cancer – We take our responsibility in promoting oral cancer awareness to heart. In the event Dr. Verdin discovers a suspicious area of tissue, he may perform a biopsy and send the sample to the medical laboratory to eliminate oral cancer as a concern.

Your Comfort is Always our #1 Concern

Dr. Verdin works closely with dental specialists, including Oral Surgeons, Periodontists and Endodontists and will refer his patients as needed if their case is more complex or sedation is recommended.

Our office is in full compliance with sterilization procedures that meet or exceed
all guidelines for OSHA, the CDC and the American Dental Association®.
